Brazilian Zouk Weekend in Montreal

We are excited to bring back our Weekender concept after a three-year break. Our 2027 edition will take place from Friday, February 5 to Sunday, February 7, 2027.

Experience a full weekend of Brazilian zouk with two inspiring Brazilian artists.

Through their workshops, you’ll have the opportunity to dive into their pedagogy and discover their unique approach to movement, musicality, and connection. A precious chance to nourish your dance and deepen your understanding of Brazilian zouk.

Weekend Program

The ZEM Weekender - 2027 edition will feature the following two Brazilian artists: Pedro & Ana!

They will offer a total of 5 hours of workshops throughout the weekend:

  • Saturday: 2 progressive workshops of 1h30 each

  • Friday and Saturday evenings: 2 pre-social workshops of 1h each

You will also have the chance to dance with them during the 3 socials offered throughout the weekend: Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon!

sunday masterclass

As an optional add-on, a 2-hour masterclass will be offered on Sunday, at an additional cost.

Prerequisites: completion of our Level 4 (or equivalent) and comfort with traveling upper-body rotation movements.

To ensure an optimal experience, access to the masterclass is managed through a waitlist, allowing us to maintain a balanced ratio and a consistent level.

Guest Artists

DISCOVER OUR ARTISTS

  • Pedro and Ana are internationally renowned Brazilian zouk artists, having earned the title of champions at the Brazilian Zouk World Championships, competing at the All‑Stars level in Jack & Jills, and serving as certified judges with the Brazilian Zouk Dance Council (BZDC).

    Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Pedro has been training in contemporary dance and classical ballet since the age of 16 while Ana has been immersed in dance from the age of 5, with a background in contemporary dance, jazz, and classical ballet.

    Their diverse training has deeply shaped their mastery of Brazilian zouk, enriching their artistic expression and precision. They taught at Alex de Carvalho’s dance school in Brazil, where they developed an accessible and well‑structured teaching style.

    Now based in the United States, they are recognized for their dynamic performances and numerous achievements, including multiple podiums in Brazilian zouk competitions. They are appreciated for the quality of their instruction and their commitment to promoting Brazilian zouk culture worldwide, teaching at major festivals across Canada, the United States, Brazil, and Europe.
