Brazilian Zouk Group Classes in Montreal
Our Class Programs
We’ve structured the essential concepts of Brazilian Zouk into four progressive levels (FUNDAMENTALS, INTER 1, INTER 2, ADVANCED), each running over a 10-week session (except during the summer, where we have an 8-week session for our Fundamentals class only). We believe that the material covered in the first three levels is essential for you to confidently integrate and build upon for our next level (ADVANCED).
cONTINUE TO dance to the Rhythm of Brazilian Zouk THIS SUMMER!
We are reducing our group class offer during the summer, which often coincides for many with vacation period and beautiful outdoor temperatures! We will resume our full program in September, around the same time as the back to school period! That said, we will be at Espace des arts on MONDAYS to offer you the 2 following group classes:
Our FUNDAMENTALS class, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., that will help you develop body awareness, understand rhythm in Brazilian zouk, and sync your movements with those of your partner.
The FLASHMOB 2026 practices, from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m., which will be a great opportunity to take on a small choreographic challenge while allowing you to review and practice your Brazilian zouk basics, learn new sequences, add styling to your dance, and meet other dancers from the community. As soon as available, we will be sharing this year’s choreography on our social media!
In addition, we’ll continue to offer one ZEM social at Station Clark and one collaboration with La Onda social (EDA) every month this summer (unless we have a special collaboration like on June 13th, 2026). These two socials take place on Saturdays but pay attention, studios and schedules are different! Check out our Calendar page to find out all their dates and schedules!

FUNDAMENTALs monDAYS

Focused on lower body concepts & moves, creating a strong foundation designed to:
Have body awareness within the structure of Brazilian zouk to continually add movements in the next levels
Understand the rhythm & beats of Brazilian zouk
Coordinate footwork with music
Connect with self and partner
Move in sync with your partner & the music
*no prerequisite, no experience needed

Summer choreographic challenge that will allow you, among other things, to:
Review and practice your basics
Learn new moves and add styling to your dance
Meet new passionate zoukers like you
Celebrate the International Brazilian Zouk Day by filming ourselves performing the choreography all together
*open to all, no prerequisite (but we highly recommend you to take our Fundamentals class just before if you’ve never taken Brazilian zouk classes before)
INTER 1
(back in the fall 2026)

Focused on concepts & moves of upper and lower body undulations (waves) & isolations linearly:
Safe & conscious body movements for the spine and neck
Body awareness with undulations (waves) & isolations
Build balance & stability with linear off-axis movements
Weight transfer & grounding
Flexibility, mobility and fluidity with upper and lower body creating smoother transitions
*Prerequisite: having completed our Fundamentals course or its equivalent
INTER 2
(back in the fall 2026)

Focused on concepts & moves of upper and lower body isolations with rotation
Mobility and flexibility in rotation
Refine balance with upper body & head movements
Expand on body awareness to create safe upper body rotation movements
Increase precision and partner work connection
Refine & polish lines and framing
Expand on intermediate concepts & movements vocabulary
*Prerequisite: having completed our Inter 1 course or its equivalent
ADVANCED
(back in the fall 2026)

Focused on learning new transitions & possibilities by expanding on all 3 previous levels
Combine and coordinate different concepts between upper & lower body
Travel with upper body & head movements

Pricing & Registration
Each group class session is offered at $175.00 + tax. Spots are limited to 10 students per class (5 leaders and 5 followers) to support effective learning for everyone (except for flashmob practices during the summer where we simply ensure an equitable ratio of leads and follows).
If you’d like to attend a single drop-in class, please contact us in advance to confirm availability. Drop-in rate is at 30$ (taxes included).
